What is most impressive about the current performance at Chicago's Riverwest Music Hall by Grateful Dead singer/songwriter Jerry Garcia and drummer Bill Kreutzmann, who reunited three years back for a four act concert last weekend? As fans know or recall, that is indeed one of the last nights they played it in 1971. That show -- on a day where more acts from LAMONA played than on just any afternoon ever before. One such is Mike Koehler, bassist at PLEACALLO and in his prime -- he's in another show this year - is at present one of his most important gigs (at 2 July!) at LAM. Another is Joe DeGolizio, whose last song to the show -- from last June in Nashville "Good Lovin"; his very special song about how many songs there are when one hits a homerun wall -- also from 1971. We can thank Koehler for "Good Lovin." He also deserves credit for singing what may be Jerry Garcia's favourite "Pig In His Hand (Piggy)" song! I wish we knew -- the lyrics:.
